WindLogics
was founded by SSESCO in 1989 by leaders in the supercomputer
industry.
Today, the company provides a range of products and
services for sophisticated modeling, computer visualization,
and data analysis solutions in environmental and meteorological
markets.
During the mid-1990's, the company designed and developed
"savi3D™", the core visualization technology module
used in the company's popular Environmental WorkBench™
(EWB) product line. savi3D is a leading visualization
and analysis tool for scientists and engineers in the
environmental industry. WindLogics also developed a suite
of software tools to assist EWB customers in importing
data into savi3D, analyzing discrete and grid data,
and accurately interpolating data. EWB's savi3D technology
has been licensed for use in several 3rd party environmental
software packages such as Waterloo Hydrogeologic's Visual
Modflow and Autometric's Edge Visualization System.
Environmental WorkBench™ allows scientists and
engineers to easily explore, visualize and communicate
the results of environmental modeling of massive datasets.
Using EWB technology, WindLogics developed the RITE™ Emergency
Response product to provide state, county and local
officials with real-time data analysis and monitoring
of weather data to visualize the position and movement
of toxic chemical releases. Under a multi-year cross-licensing
agreement with ARIA
Technologies, a leading European developer of
atmospheric modeling software, WindLogics has incorporated
ARIA's unique diagnostic "windfield / puff" models in
the RITE™ product line. The ARIA meteorological and
pollution dispersion modeling technology has been widely
used in Europe ranging from continental events like
the Chernobyl Nuclear disaster to air flows around a
single building.
WindLogics' unique new Internet-based service called Weather
Portal™ (WxPortal™) brings the power of 3D weather visualization
and analysis to the business desktop. WxPortal delivers
an easy-to-use tool allowing customers to overlay any
combination of map layers and weather information that
may be useful, animate them over any time period, and
save them as thumbnail images. In much the same way
that online investors track their portfolios, each day
you can click on your thumbnails and see your personalized
weather data decision-combinations, updated in real-time
over the Internet.
While existing sources of weather data can provide bits
and pieces of valuable information they don't solve
the real problem faced by the customer - the ability
to rapidly integrate data from many different formats,
time-scales, and sources, to make better and faster
business decisions.
WindLogics also provides expert system solutions and consulting
on a wide variety of scientific and environmental projects.
Extensive experience with weather models and meteorological
data makes WindLogics uniquely qualified to consult on Environmental
Engineering projects requiring the collection and analysis
of environmental data.
